We all want to relax, and there’s nothing more relaxing than sitting in a favorite, comfy chair to work, play a game, snuggle with your kids, or nap. While FlexiSpot is known for their standing desks and office chairs, they also have a chair with relaxation in mind. The FlexiSpot Swivel Rocker Recliner Lotus brings you that relaxation, while also keeping your technology needs in mind.

Introducing the FlexiSpot Lotus Chair

Other than relaxation, the FlexiSpot Swivel Rocker Recliner Lotus Chair also seems to have a goal to take any possibe work from you. Not that sitting is hard, but that’s literally all you have to do – just sit.

The chair glides so easily when swiveling, and the rocking is just as smooth and can lull you – or your infant – to sleep. While some recliners force you to do a hard crank on a lever on the side, the Lotus moves easily with buttons on the side – no cranking needed.

Controls

It’s also easier to use your devices with the Lotus. You can plug your devices in on the side to charge them. If you have the more expensive model, you can put your phone in a convenient holder so that you can see it in your line of sight, rather than losing it in the cushion. Even better is that it works as a wireless charger.

Assembling the Lotus

The first thing to know is that the FlexiSpot Lotus Chair ships in two really heavy boxes. One of them is over 80 pounds. If you can’t lift that much, you’ll need help. Even if you are able to lift it, you’ll need at least one other person to help you assemble it.

I regret that I didn’t get any pictures of the assembly process. I had to have my daughter’s boyfriend carry the boxes down the stairs for me. I later had my son and daughter-in-law helping me put it together. I thought we’d just be placing the seat part on top of the heavy bottom part with all the technology in it, but there was more to the assembly than that, and at times, it took all three of us.

The directions are light on instruction, but it wasn’t too difficult to figure out what to do. The seat part was lifted on top of the base, the backrest onto the base, and the footrest had to be screwed in to the bottom of the chair.

Attaching footrest

This proved difficult. It’s hard to use the Allen wrench and screws to get the footrest in place, as the holes are underneath the bars that hold the footrest, and there are big springs in front of the corresponding holes. The footrest bars have to be “out” to put the footrest on, and you need to crawl underneath all of it to reach the holes behind the spring. It took three of us to position it correctly, but it appears that it would have been a bit easier if we did that before we put the seat onto the base. Additionally, the holes didn’t line up correctly.

Allen wrench and extra screw

Once that is complete, it’s just a matter of placing the seat cushion and lifting the backrest cushion of the back. The confusing part is that there truly does seem to be an extra screw. While ending up with extra parts after assembly is a quintessential joke, there was only one extra screw, no corresponding hole(s), and nothing mentioned about it in the instructions.

Lotus Chair Aesthetics

Once the FlexiSpot Swivel Rocker Recliner Lotus is fully assembled, you can see the true beauty of it. It’s offered in both a normal fabric (Beige, Light Gray, or Orange) and PU leather (Slate Blue, Creamy Ivory, or Sunset Brown). It has a luxurious feel and look to it. It’s also obvious that it’s very well made.

Matching furnishings

The chair I reviewed is a Creamy Ivory leather. I just finished redoing my bedroom after the floor flooded, and the aesthetics between the Lotus, my furniture, and my bedding seems so natural. The PU leather is very comfortable as well. Sitting down. I have to give a big sigh, whether or not the footrest is up.

Tight space

Once we finished putting the chair together, though, it appears that it’s too big for the space. We will now have to carry it upstairs to the living room, which will be no easy feat, and it will match the decor, but not as well. I’ll add a throw blanket over it, which will help it blend in.

Using the Swivel Rocker Recliner

Just as the name implies, the Lotus swivels, rocks, and reclines. It’s the ultimate in comfort, whether you’re working, relaxing, or sleeping. I sigh every time I sit in it.

Armwrests

It swivels very smoothly and rocks just as easily. The controls on the side include up and down buttons for the footrest. Move the footrest up, and the back tilts back. Move it back down, and the back tilts forward again.

Side Drawer

On the same control panel, there is a USB-A and USB-C port. I love that modern household items have ports. My bedroom lamps, nightstands, and dresser mirror have them. Having it on this FlexiSpot chair allows you to charge your devices while you use them and/or nap. There is also a pullout drawer near the bottom on the left. Magazines, notepad, remote, etc., can be stored in there.

Availability

The FlexiSpot Lotus Chair works very well, and feels and looks luxurious. You will always be comfortable and may not get as much work done, as you’ll be too busy napping. You just need to make sure you have a large enough space for it. Make sure you have help to assemble it and possibly to carry the boxes to the area where it’s being used/assembled.

Feet Up

The FlexiSpot Swivel Rocker Recliner Lotus is also available in a manual version without the electronic controls, as well as the version with an attached phone stand. If the chair is something you need to work and/or relax in your home, you can buy it for $369.99, $489.99, or $599.99.
