Tired of skimming through various subreddits to get your answers? Reddit Answers is here to make finding answers on Reddit a breeze. This AI-powered tool will help you get answers from users on Reddit with a single search. Let’s learn how Reddit Answers works.
What is Reddit Answers
Reddit Answers is an AI search feature of Reddit, powered by Google Gemini, that works similarly to any other AI chatbot to get answers. However, it only uses the posts and comments on Reddit as its data source. The answers you will get will be directly from users across Reddit, just formatted and summarized by the Reddit Answers AI.
It will provide answers similar to AI chatbots with an overview, recommendations, additional context, and practical tips. The data is taken from posts and comments on Reddit, and parts that are directly taken from a post or comment are hyperlinked to directly view them.
Accessing Reddit Answers
This feature is still in beta and available to a limited number of countries. If your account is eligible, you should see an Answers option in the left sidebar. You can also access the Reddit Answers page to access the feature or sign up to be notified of its release.

Users can ask 10 questions per week without logging in, and up to 20 questions per day for logged-in users. Reddit premium users can ask up to 100 questions per day. Just like other chatbots, it doesn’t answer questions that break company rules. Furthermore, answers don’t include NSFW posts or comments.
Using Reddit Answers
On the Reddit Answers page, there is a chat button at the bottom to ask your questions. You can use natural language to ask your question, and it will process for a few seconds (like other AI chatbots) and reply.

Each part of the answer will have a link to the post/comment from where the information was taken. You can click on the link to open the post and the associated comment in the sidebar. Here you’ll find buttons to open the full post in a new tab and to directly reach the specific comment.

You can ask follow-up questions, and the AI will remember your previous questions and provide answers accordingly. Interestingly, it always puts the Subreddits for Further Help section at the end of each answer that lists subreddits related to your answer. It’s particularly helpful when your question isn’t answered and you want to create a new post.
From our testing, it did a great job of putting together all the related information on Reddit and summarizing it. For questions asking for recommendations, it usually did a solid job of ranking each recommendation based on how often a particular recommendation was made.
That said, we noticed a few issues that are worth considering. For instance, it doesn’t care about the date of the post or comment it’s pulling information from. This means you will often get outdated information on many topics. To make matters worse, it doesn’t follow direct instructions like “only include posts from last month” or “search only r/subredditname“, etc.
It doesn’t show deleted comments either, which you can still view from here.
Furthermore, due to a limited database and information gathered from regular users, the information can be incorrect. This particularly happens when the AI forces a reply even when there aren’t many posts on the particular topic.
Overall, it’s definitely a much better option than Reddit’s search function, unless you are looking for a particular post. However, be ready to open some Reddit posts, as it doesn’t provide in-depth information on its own. To make your experience even better, make sure you take advantage of these Reddit browser extensions.
