Stylish, Modern Design to Fit Anywhere

No one wants a bulky air purifier that stands out like a sore thumb. The Provirtec ClearBreathe Neo Air Purifier AP-02 offers a stylish, modern design that fits in well in most any room in your home. I found it blended in so well, that you don’t even notice it‘s there most of the time. At 10″D x 10″W x 20″H, it’s not overly large and it weighs just over 10 lbs., making it easy to move around if you need to.

I have it in a darker corner and I love having the air quality light work as a sort of night light. But, don’t worry, you can turn that off at any time, especially if you’re using it in a bedroom.

As a pet parent, the five-stage filtration system was what I was most excited about. Each stage handles the following:

After using the Provirtec ClearBreathe Neo Air Purifier AP-02 for just a week, I noticed a major difference in the amount of dust and pet hair around the house. It also exceeded my expectations when it came to controlling odors. Nasty litterbox smells disappeared almost a quickly as they were “delivered.”

Another perk is that the filter is designed to last up to 12 months. The manual recommends changing the pre-filters more frequently, but it comes with two extras, which is nice.

A handle on the back helps give you some leverage when turning it over to change the filter. But the purifier is still slick, so be careful.

I was happy that I didn’t have to leave a ton of space around the air purifier. But the 360-degree purification does mean leaving at least several inches around all sides for air to filter effectively.

While many air purifiers are made for a single room, the Provirtec ClearBreathe Neo Air Purifier AP-02 handles purifies up to 2,070 sq.ft. per hour. It even offers up a CADR (clean air delivery rate) of 283 CFM (cubic ft. per minute).

What does all that mean? You’ll notice a difference in the air in minutes, not hours. Within 30 minutes, I could breathe better throughout my entire one-story home. Of course, placing it in a central location helps.

To better explain how quickly it works, it’ll purify the air in a 450 sq.ft. living room in just 15 minutes.

What impressed me even more is how quiet it is. The fan speed ranges from 1 to 10, with the noise ranging from 24dB yo 55dB (Ex: quiet rustling leaves to a moderate rainfall). If you’re sitting right next to it on the highest setting, it does get a little hard to hear normal conversation, so I’d save that for when you’re not going to be in the room.

Multiple Built-in Modes or Set Up Your Own

There are multiple built-in modes that set the fan speed based on specific conditions:

• Home
• Away
• Pet
• Purify

The Pet setting raises the fan speed to 10, but if your furbabies are shedding or playing around a lot, it’s well worth using this setting at least once a day to keep down on hair and dander.

Most of the time, Auto works well, as it detects air conditions in real time and adjusts the fan speed accordingly.

The companion app (iOS or Android) lets you set up custom modes for one tap control.

I’ve used other air purifiers in the past and wasn’t surprised to find a sleep mode. This mode turns off all the lights and drops the fan speed to the quietest setting, though you can bump it up if you need to.

What I didn’t expect was the automatic night mode. When you switch this on, the Provirtec ClearBreathe Neo Air Purifier AP-02 automatically enters sleep mode when the ambient light darkens, so there’s no need to manually switch modes when going to bed.

Real-Time Monitoring

Provirtec’s AP-02 air purifier monitors three air quality stats in real time to better cleanse the air: PM 2.5, humidity, and temperature. A thin light strip divides the fabric and plastic portions and shows you the air quality level:

• Blue – Very good
• Green – Good
• Yellow – Moderate
• Red – Poor

Most of the time, the light on the air purifier I reviewed stayed blue with a few minutes of green, especially when going in and out of the house. But, when frying food on the stove, it did jump up to red. However, within five minutes, the purifier had drastically reduced the smoke and smells. It dropped down into the green light in less than 10 minutes.

I did notice the temperature seemed to be off 2 to 3 degrees most of the time, based on my smart temperature sensor and thermostat.

Incredibly Simple to Use and Control

The Provirtec ClearBreathe Neo Air Purifier AP-02 connects via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, so if you don’t have a great Wi-Fi signal in the room where it’s set up, it’s not a problem. Setup took maybe five minutes total. That includes setting up an account to use the Prodigytec app.

I couldn’t be happier with the app. It works well, the options are easy to understand, and you can set custom modes. Plus, the app walks you through connecting with Alexa and/or Google for voice commands.

If you prefer to keep things even simpler, just use the touch controls on top of the purifier. There’s a child lock to keep curious fingers from changing anything or keep pets from jumping on it and changing the settings. A slider lets you quickly change the fan speed.
