Apple has added a feature called Health Age to a new Longevity tab in its Health app, and the redesigned app is in the iOS 27.3 developer beta, Apple said in a Newsroom post on 3 November 2026.

The same post said the redesigned app would expand language support to global English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese. Apple describes the app as built with Apple Intelligence at its core and says it adapts to a person’s health metrics across iPhone and iPad.

Health Age sits at the centre of the Longevity tab.

What Apple says Health Age uses

The feature translates data from Apple Watch, and Apple names four inputs: VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep and heart rate variability. Apple describes the output as “a metric that reflects how a user’s body is tracking relative to their chronological age”. Users can also add clinical laboratory data such as A1c and LDL cholesterol.

Apple’s footnotes say Health Age requires Apple Watch.

The wider Longevity tab analyses longitudinal metrics across heart health, sleep, mental wellbeing, movement, metabolic health, hearing and nutrition, according to Apple. The test to estimate VO2 max requires Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 3 or a third-party heart rate sensing device, the footnotes say, and some features require users to be 18 or older.

The rest of the redesign

An Insights tab pulls together summaries spanning heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals and cycle tracking data through the day. A For You section gives recommendations based on daily habits, with Apple’s example being guidance to adjust a wind-down routine after consecutive nights of interrupted sleep.

The app also pairs that data with videos and articles featuring what Apple calls Health app clinical experts.

A second addition is a set of at-home movement evaluations. Using an iPhone camera and Apple Watch, people can measure flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics and VO2 max, with audio and visual feedback as they go. Apple says the evaluations run on device using vision-based AI models developed with clinical experts, and that no video is recorded, stored or shared.

When it reaches everyone

Apple says the redesigned Health app is available in the iOS 27.3 developer beta and will roll out to users as a free software update “later this year”. Apple did not name a specific date in the post.

Apple also said it would keep adding languages to the redesigned app.

There are hardware limits on top of the timing. Apple says the redesigned Health app will be available on Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone and iPad models running the latest software, with some features only on iPhone, and that some features may not be available in all regions or languages.

Apple describes Health Age as a feature that translates Apple Watch data into a metric reflecting how a user’s body is tracking relative to their chronological age. Features are subject to change, according to Apple’s footnotes.

Apple Intelligence itself is available with Siri and device language set to one of 16 languages listed by Apple, including Danish, Dutch, German, Italian and Swedish.
