Sony will sell its PlayStation Pulse wireless headset for a recommended $99.99, with pre-orders opening on 29 October 2026 and the headset going on sale in select regions on 19 November 2026, according to an update posted on the PlayStation.Blog on 21 October 2026.

The launch date is the same day GTA VI arrives, The Verge reported on 21 October 2026.

The headset comes in White and Midnight Black. Sony first showed it on 15 September 2026 alongside a step-up model, the Pulse Edge, which adds active noise cancellation and a detachable boom mic. The Edge is planned for next year.

Sony says larger planar drivers have been added to both new headsets, keeping the clean sound players have had from the Pulse Elite it introduced in 2024.

Pre-order times by region

In the US, pre-orders open at 7:00am PT on 29 October 2026 through direct.playstation.com. Buyers in the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg can order direct from PlayStation from 10:00am local time on 29 October 2026, and Sony says participating retailers will also take orders.

The 19 November 2026 launch covers 24 countries. The list takes in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Israel and 18 European countries, from the UK and Ireland to Ukraine.

“The release date for PlayStation Pulse in additional countries will be announced at a later date,” the post says.

What $99.99 buys

The Pulse has planar magnetic drivers with 4 magnets per driver, an integrated microphone with what Sony calls AI noise rejection, and built-in volume control. A PlayStation Link adapter with a USB Type-C connector comes in the box, and the earcups rotate so the headset lies flat for carrying.

PlayStation Link carries audio to PS5 consoles, the PlayStation Portal remote player, PC and Mac, and the headset can connect to a Bluetooth device at the same time.

Sony says the planar drivers help players pick out directional cues such as footsteps or reloads in competitive first-person shooters.

The Edge gets 8 magnets per driver, a hidden mic plus the detachable boom, a game and chat balance control for PS5, active noise cancellation, a carrying case and an audio jack. None of those appear on the Pulse in Sony’s comparison table.

Sony says it will share more on the Edge when it launches next year.

The original announcement on 15 September 2026 was written by Joe Bentley, vice president of engineering at Sony Interactive Entertainment.
