Blink has put its first 4K camera, the $79.99 Mini 4K+, on preorder in the US alongside the $199.99 Frontier XR+, a trail camera that reaches up to 7,000 feet from the company’s Sync Module XR+ hub, Amazon said.

The two cameras are part of five new Blink models that opened for US preorder on the day of the announcement, with prices starting at $49.99. The lineup also includes Blink’s first spotlight camera and its first pan-tilt camera. Amazon’s announcement page carries no date.

The 7,000 foot range figure comes with two conditions attached.

The Frontier XR+ needs the Sync Module XR+ to reach that distance, and Amazon says the figure applies only with a clear line of sight, meaning open air with no obstruction between the outdoor mounted hub and the camera. The $199.99 price covers one camera and the hub.

Range and resolution

Amazon describes the Frontier XR+ as a trail cam for large properties and remote locations, listing gates, pastures, outbuildings and job sites as examples of areas far from a main building.

A second extended range model, the Outdoor 2K XR+, costs $149.99 with the hub. Amazon says it reaches up to 800 feet from the Sync Module XR+ with some trees or structures in the way, or up to 2,700 feet with a clear line of sight, and resolution is capped at 1080p at max range settings.

The Mini 4K+ is a wired camera for indoor or outdoor use.

It records in 4K with a 115 degree horizontal field of view, dual band Wi-Fi 6, two way audio and an IP65 rating. Smart Alerts with person and vehicle detection need a compatible Blink subscription plan.

Subscribers on eligible AI plans in the US, Canada or the UK also get Video Descriptions, which Amazon describes as AI generated summaries of camera activity. The feature is not available in Illinois because of state legislation, and it is limited to mobile devices with select primary languages.

Spotlight and pan-tilt models

The $109.99 Spotlight Cam 2K+ is Blink’s first battery powered spotlight camera.

Its spotlight turns on with motion, and the camera runs without a wired power connection, so Amazon says it can be placed wherever extra visibility is needed, such as above a garage, along a side yard or near a back gate.

The $49.99 Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ pans 350 degrees and tilts 115 degrees, and it offers night vision, two way audio and, with a compatible Blink subscription plan, person and vehicle detection. Outdoor use needs the Blink Camera Outdoor Adapter, which is sold separately.

Preorders for the Mini 4K+ and the Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ are also open in Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia and New Zealand. The Frontier XR+, Outdoor 2K XR+ and Spotlight Cam 2K+ will be sold in Canada, where customers can sign up for an email when the cameras go on sale.
