XREAL AURA, a pair of wired glasses that Google describes as the first wired XR glasses powered by its Android XR software, opened for orders in the US, Canada and Korea on 28 October 2026 with launch pricing starting at $1,099, Google said in a blog post.
US shipments begin in mid-November 2026.
Orders open in Japan on 2 November 2026.
Shahram Izadi, Google’s vice president and general manager for XR, wrote that the glasses are “under 95 grams, because the heavy processing happens in a portable compute puck, connected by a cable.” The puck holds the battery and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite chip, which makes its debut on AURA.
The lenses are transparent and give a 70-degree field of view.
Apps, Gemini and a laptop window
Google says Android XR brings Gemini and apps from Google Play to the glasses, including over 150 apps made for XR. Users can open several apps at once, such as a browser and work documents, and place them around the room at any size.
A Bluetooth keyboard and mouse can be paired, or the puck can be used as a trackpad.
A feature called Wired Mirroring puts a laptop’s screen into the glasses over a USB-C cable that supports video output.
Gemini on Android XR can see both the room and the screens in view, including the laptop window, according to Google. When a user shares their view, it can highlight what to focus on, either in the room or on screen.
The lenses can be dimmed for video and turn transparent again when someone comes into view. YouTube and Google TV offer 180 and 360 degree videos and 3D films on the glasses.
Films and performances arriving with AURA include “Nevatars”, co-directed by Andy Serkis and Josh Nelson Youssef, “Galapagos: the Last Eden”, narrated by Margot Robbie, and the San Francisco Ballet’s “Nutcracker”.
Google Photos will add a spatial gallery during 2026 that wraps a user’s library around them.
For games, the glasses run mobile and tablet titles from Google Play and can show games from a handheld or PC through Wired Mirroring. XR games from Owlchemy Labs and Resolution Games are played with the hands, and Google named Fallout Factions and Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars as new titles arriving with AURA.
Price and availability
The $1,099 figure is the starting point of launch pricing that runs through the end of 2026. Google’s post does not give a price for after that date.
Orders are limited to users aged 18 and over, and Google says a compatible account and setup are required. Businesses looking to deploy the glasses at scale are pointed to Google’s Android Enterprise blog.
Orders are taken at xreal.com and, in the US, at BestBuy.com.
