Amazon’s new Echo Dot shipped on 28 October 2026 for $99.99 with a built-in smart home hub and a built-in eero Wi-Fi extender, which the company says adds up to 1,000 square feet of coverage to an existing network, according to Amazon’s announcement of five new Alexa devices.

The hub is a first for the Echo Dot line, Amazon said.

“For the first time, it includes a built-in smart home hub, so Alexa connects to thousands of compatible devices such as lights, locks, and thermostats right out of the box,” the post said. Amazon gave the Wi-Fi coverage figure as an “up to” number and did not say how it was measured.

Inside the new Echo Dot

The speaker runs on Amazon’s own AZ3 chip, which carries a new AI Accelerator for on-device processing. Amazon said the chip sharpens conversational detection and filters out background noise. The company also claims crisp vocals and 50 per cent more bass than the previous Echo Dot, though it gave no test figures.

Two Kids versions cost $109.99 and come with a year of Amazon Kids+. All prices are in US dollars.

Amazon said hundreds of millions of customers use the latest Alexa experiences and talk to Alexa two to three times more. The company said the new Alexa holds more natural conversations, asks clarifying questions and handles multi-step requests, and that every device in the lineup ships with the latest version.

Echo Time, Echo Studio and Echo Show 16

Echo Time, a bedside clock priced at $199.99, uses sleep sensing powered by what Amazon calls Omnisense to detect lighter sleep and wake a user within 10 to 60 minutes of a scheduled alarm, with no wearable needed. The device has no camera, and Amazon said the display brightens gradually and the tone builds as the alarm approaches.

Amazon said Echo Time has the National Sleep Foundation’s SleepMark. A Kids version starts at $209.99.

Echo Studio with Home Camera, at $249.99, also shipped on 28 October 2026. Amazon said the camera lets Alexa explain the rules on a board game box held up to it, recognise a cereal box to help reorder it, or let the owner check the room from the Alexa app. The Echo Studio without the camera costs $219.99.

Pairing with compatible Fire TVs for video calling is due later, Amazon said.

The Echo Show 16 went up for preorder on 28 October 2026 from $499.99, or $569.99 with a Nanomatte screen option, with $100 off for preorders. It has a 16-inch screen that Amazon said is nearly 40 per cent thinner with 10 per cent more viewing area, Fire TV built in, and night vision on its camera.

Amazon said the Nanomatte option cuts glare by more than 90 per cent.

The company said Echo Show is its fastest-growing Echo line, up more than 25 per cent year over year. The fifth device, the Alexa Photo Frame, has a 10-inch anti-glare touchscreen and syncs pictures from Amazon Photos, and Amazon describes it as the first photo frame with Alexa built in.

Certain features require Alexa+, which Amazon said is included with a Prime membership.
