Analogue’s Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ ship in December 2026 at $219.99 each, according to the company’s Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ product pages. The two consoles play original Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges and output video over HDMI at up to 1080p, with no emulation, Analogue says.
Both are updated versions of the Super Nt from 2017 and the Mega Sg from 2018.
Each runs on an Altera Cyclone V FPGA chip rather than software. “It is designed using a specialty hardware chip called an FPGA, which operates on a transistor level,” the Super Nt+ page says. Analogue describes the FPGA design as done in house from scratch and backed by more than a decade of development.
Analogue announced the two consoles on 16 October 2026 and said pre-orders would open on 19 October 2026, The Verge reported.
What is new
New to both consoles is built-in Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless, with a pairing button on the console for up to two controllers. The pairing button connects 8BitDo controllers and arcade sticks as well as other modern gamepads. Plugging in a wired controller replaces a wireless one, and original-style wired pads still work.
Power comes over USB-C, and a 30W USB-C supply and cable are in the box.
A USB-A port is also new, but Analogue says it is only for its Analogue DAC adapter, which outputs analog video to CRT displays, or for charging controllers. It does not carry data and does not accept wired USB controllers. Cartridges can be hot-swapped after quitting a game from the menu, without powering the console down.
Pressing start on the player one controller, wired or wireless, also powers the console on or off.
Specs and what is left out
Both output HDMI at 480p, 720p or 1080p for NTSC and 576p, 720p or 1080p for PAL, with 48kHz 16-bit audio over HDMI. Cartridges from any region run at either video standard. Picture options include 8:7, 4:3 and 1:1 aspect ratios, scanlines and cropping. An SD card slot handles firmware updates.
The Super Nt+ measures 5.2 by 6.5 by 1.6 inches and the Mega Sg+ 6.6 by 5.4 by 1.8 inches.
The Super Nt+ comes in Classic, SF and Black variants, and Analogue lists compatibility with more than 2,200 Super Nintendo and Super Famicom cartridges. The Mega Sg+ comes in USA, EU and JP variants, ships with a Master System cartridge adapter, and has a connector for an original Sega CD or Mega CD.
Adapters for Game Gear, Sega My Card, Mark III and SG-1000 cartridges are sold separately.
Several features from other Analogue products are not included. Neither console supports openFPGA, and neither includes a built-in game. The original Super Nt shipped with Super Turrican Director’s Cut and the original Mega Sg with Ultracore. Save states, overclocking, screenshots and the 4K display modes of the Analogue 3D are also absent.
The matching 8BitDo SN30 and M30 wireless controllers are not included and sell for $29.99 each.
