The WinToFlash app only works in Windows, so you need to have another Windows machine to create the USB installer. In addition, you have to make sure that your netbook supports boot from USB. Lastly, it is better to create a separate partition first before installing Windows 7, else it will erase/format your whole partition, including the Ubuntu.

After you have completed the installation, you need to either 1. unplug the USB before reboot or 2.change the boot order to boot hard disk first.

Dude, THANKS for this awesome info. Right now, I'm installing Windows 7 on my pal's Toshiba NB200-10j netbook and it's going great -- so far. I heard Win 7 runs pretty good on this device. I might turn of Aero for quicker response and I'll also peek Google for "tweaking Windows 7" which has tons of excellent tips to turn off necessary Services et al.

Cheers!

hey, this tutorial sounds like it just might work, but the problem i have is that i've got a windows 7 dvd, and when i 'open' to see what files are inside the dvd, i cant find any .iso file... the files that are available are as follows:

AUTORUN
BOOTMGR
MEDIAMETA
SETUP
SUPPORT
SOURCES
BOOT
EFI

So what should my next step be now? how can i convert it into an iso file?

Manually reformat the flash drive (Right click and select Format) and try it again. It should work after that.
