1. Incognito This

Incognito This is a useful addon that allows you to seamlessly switch open tabs to Incognito windows with a click of the icon.

1. Install the extension here.

2. In your Chrome, go to the “Manage Extensions” page and scroll down till you see “Incognito This”.

3. Click the arrow icon on the left to expand it. At the end of the description, check the box “Enable in Incognito” (the same steps apply for the rest of the addons mentioned below).

4. That’s it. At any website or tab that you wish to make incognito, simply click the Incognito This icon and it will move the current tab to a new Incognito window. You can do the same thing in the Incognito mode too, switching a tab to the normal mode.

Incognito This also comes with several useful customization options. You can get it to close tab on switch, clear tab and page history, and add a shortcut to make the switch, either with the shortcut key “Ctrl + B” or via the context menu. One cool setting is that you can specify a keyword in the URL so it will automatically switch to Incognito mode upon detecting the URL. For example, you can specify “maketecheasier” as the keyword and everytime you open a MTE page, it will auto-switch the tab to Incognito mode.

2. Incognito Button

If you are looking for a no-frill option to switch tab to Incognito mode, Incognito button could be what you are looking for. There are no options to configure. Once installed, it just works.

One thing though, it works one way only (Normal to Incognito mode) and you can’t switch it back from Incognito mode.

3. Incognito Regex

Instead of manually clicking an icon to switch to Incognito mode, Incognito Regex allows you to automate the process by entering a list of URL (regex based) that should be opened in Incognito mode. When you load a URL in the normal mode and it matches the regular expression in the list, it will be moved to a Incognito window automatically.

4. Incognito Search

As the name implies, this addon allows you to do a Google search in the Incognito mode. There is no option to configure. While browsing on any site, you can highlight the word/sentences/phrases that you want to search, right click on the mouse and select “Search Google Incognito for”

5. Go Invisible

Go Invisible is similar to the Incognito Button as stated above, but it has an additional feature of being able to move all the tabs in the normal mode to a Incognito mode. This allows you to quickly switch from one mode to another.

This app opens up to a picture of a lock on a safe, because that’s exactly what it is. It’s a safe for your most private items on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. While it looks like a folder on your device, it’s really an app hiding all these secret items. When you first open the app it allows you to set a secret code, one you will use every other time you open the app.

Among the internal apps that this app holds is a photo locker. Sometimes there are pictures you just don’t want everyone privy to. You can add photos to this app from your regular photo albums, or can take photos from within the app and have them stored here, in multiple different photo albums if you wish. It’s important to mention that if the photo was originally stored in your normal photo album, it will be in your photo stream, and while you can delete it from your camera roll, it will stay in your photo stream. However, if you snap the photo from within this app, it won’t appear in your photo stream or the camera roll, and will only be stored within this app.

Notes can be kept just as private. While this operates much like the Notes app, it’s information you can jot down and keep private, seen only by your own eyes. While you can transfer this information using a simple copy and paste, you can  also head to the settings in the app and export it into File Sharing in iTunes. Documents can be imported this same way as well.

Yet perhaps the most useful internal app with My Secret App is the browser. You can set it to behave like either Safari or Firefox, as well as utilize different search engines. It opens in tabs, and can keep bookmarks and a history. But you’re the only one that will ever know. Your browsed sites will stay hidden safely within this app, as well as anything you download.

There is no need to worry about someone trying secretly to unlock this app. You’ll have a record every time someone tries to break in. With each attempt to open the app, whether successful or unsuccessful, you can set it to snap a picture of whoever is trying to open it using the front end camera. Along with the picture will be a map of where this person was located when they tried opening your private information. It’s something that can definitiely make you breathe much easier.

That’s what this app is designed to do, make you breathe much easier. It’s doubtful someone will figure out a four-digit code to enter the app, but if they do, you will know. The only secrets this app keeps are yours.

In your Mac, go to Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility.

Click on the New Image button.

Enter the information in the window.

In the Volume Size field, you can choose the size of the container that you want to create. There are several preset options, including various CD and DVD sizes. You can pick one from the dropdown list or define your own size with the Custom option.

Under the Encryption, select 128-bit AES encryption. There is also an option to choose 256-bit encryption, but that will slow down the whole process.

In the Image Format field, select read/write disk image.

Here is what you see after configuring:

Click Create to generate the disk image. It will prompt you for your password. Enter your password, make sure that it is a strong one.

Also, remember to uncheck the box “Remember password in my keychain“, else it will defy the purpose of encrypting your data.

Once the disk image is ready, you will be able to find it mounted on your desktop ready to be used. Open up the disk image in your Finder and drag (or copy and paste) your sensitive files into it. When you are done, simply unmount it. Anyone who wants to open the disk image to view the files within will have to enter the password that you have set.

That’s it. You have successfully created an encrypted disk image to contain all your confidential files. With this encrypted disk image, you can store it in a corner of your hard disk, bring it around in your flash drive or burn the disk images to your CD/DVD.
