A whopping 23% of you were not involved in any of the social networks. 34% of you, which is the majority, only actively involved in 1 social network while another bulk, with 27% were involved with 2 social networks. How Many Social Networks Are You Actively Involved? [Poll]

mte-pollThe poll last week was “What is your favorite browser?” and the results were out. More than half of you (52%) loved Firefox while Google Chrome came in second at 37%. Opera is third with 6% of the vote while Safari, Internet Explorer, Konqueror and Epiphany received 1% of the votes respectively. A total of 339 votes were casted.

What Is Your Favorite Browser? [Poll]

Do You Wish to See Delicious Shut Down? [Poll]

mte-pollThe poll last week was “What’s Your Favorite Instant Messaging Application?” and the results were out. 40% of you loved Pidgin, the versatile multi-protocols IM application. Google Talk was at second place with 15% of the vote. Digsby was at a distance third with only 9% of the vote (I expect it to be higher). The remaining ranking: Trillian, Empathy, Kopete, Adium, MSN Live Messenger, Miranda and iChat. A total of 96 votes were casted.

Do You Prefer Full Or Partial RSS Feed? [Poll]

mte-pollThe poll last week was “What is your favorite smartPhone?” and the results were out. Android leads the pack with 82 votes (57.34%) while iPhone is at a distant second with 24 votes (16.78%). I would expect iPhone users to be close, or even more than Android users, but obviously, the poll proved me wrong. A mix of Nokia and Samsung phones took up the third place with 17 votes (11.89%) and only a total of 3 votes for the newly launched WIndows Phone 7. A total of 126 votes were casted.

What Is Your Favorite SmartPhone? [Poll]

mte-pollLast week, we asked all of you “what’s your favorite PDF reader in Linux” and surprisingly Okular/KPDF came out top with 41 votes (31.3%). Either most of you are running KDE as your desktop manager or you install Okular (with a bunch of KDE files) in your Gnome desktop (or any other desktop manager). The runner-up is Evince (34 votes, 25.95%), which is the default PDF reader in Gnome desktop. Foxit and Adobe reader came out third and fourth with 23 votes (17.56%) and 17 votes (12.98%) respectively. A total of 131 votes were casted.

8 Alternative PDF Readers For Your Consideration [Linux]

pdf-logoLinux users, regardless which distro you are using, it bound to come with a default PDF reader that you can use to read PDF files. In Ubuntu, that software is Evince. In most instances, Evince works well for me. It can remember the page where I last stopped and allows me to print without any problem. However, when it comes to big complex PDF files, this is where Evince starts to stutter.

[Poll Result]: What Is Your Favorite Browser?

Here is the result of a recent poll in MakeTechEasier (MTE).

Out of a total of 92 votes,

  • 79.5% like Firefox
  • 6.5% like IE
  • 6.5% like Safari
  • 6.5% like Opera
  • 1% like other browser

This result seems a bit of a surprise when the statistics taken from W3C shows that (in Dec 2007) Firefox users only account for 36.3% while IE users (inclusive of IE5, IE6 and IE7) take up 55.9% of the market share.
