Hi Dave,

My appologies, but I've never used JKDefrag so I couldn't compare. If you happen to try out the both of them, leave a comment about your findings!

How does defraggler compare to JKDefrag or do you know? I dumped Norton's bloatware a long time ago and was happy to find JKDefrag to replace the defragger.

Teo, you are absolutely right - Diskeeper is the defragger of choice. It's features are unbeatable. We use it in our corporate environment. Their staff are a pleasure to deal with. That being said, it's a lot of overkill for the average home user, so I would only recommend the paid option for very advanced users.

Defraggler does a terrific job, and even as an IT Pro I opted for Defraggler over Diskeeper at home. Thanks for the feedback!

I love defraggler. You can also run it from the command line, which means you can script it. I used to use Dirms, but I have since switched over. Good article!

My defragger of choice is Diskeeper. Currently trialling the 2009 version and it's awesome. I've tried most of the 'famous' defraggers, and I like Diskeeper the best because it is the easiest to use - fully automatic, yet provides the best results- full defrags incl system files, and also defrag in low space. The only 'downside' is that it's not free, but then again, it's worth the money IMHO, especially if you have multiple drives.
