Get a Panorama Desktop With 360Desktop [Windows]
360Desktop released their first public beta a week back. It is a Windows-only software that extends your desktop to a360 degree panorama view. In other words, it allows you to have a lot more desktop space to place all your files, shortcut icons, widgets etc. If you are one of those who always run out of desktop space, or who are always lost in the sea of shortcut icons, give this software a try.
Screenshots
After installation, you can find a pane at the top-right hand corner of the screen. Click on it to display the overview of your 360 degree desktop. Drag the slider to navigate around the desktop.

You can download and change the panorama wallpaper.
Download widgets and insert them onto your desktop.
Performance
While Ross at simplehelp.net reported that the software caused sluggish performance in Windows Vista, it works fine on my Windows XP. There is a slight lag when dragging and moving the desktop for the first time, but the subsequent movement are rather smooth and instantaneous.
Meanwhile, this is only a beta release. Hopefully, more improvement and content will be added on in the future release.

Yeah I’m not totally convinced it wasn’t just my hardware not being up to the task. I’ve been meaning to install it in the version of Vista I have on my Mac (bootcamp). If it doesn’t run smoothly on THAT, I’ll stick to my “it’s not great in Vista, yet” theory.

The application has worked fine for me on a Windows XP Virtual machine. Somehow, I feel that the problem lies with Vista, rather than the software. That’s my gut feeling.
