Accessing Remember the Milk from your Ubuntu Desktop

remember-the-milk-logoNeedless, Remember the Milk is one the best online task managers out there, offering you a simple and easy way to organize your life. If you are like me, crazy about getting your life sorted out, online and offline, here are some ways that you can access Remember the Milk from your Ubuntu desktop.

Avant Window Navigator

The Remember the Milk applets is included in the plugin package when you install AWN. There is no need for you to download any files, simply enable the RTM applets from the configuration window, enter your login name and password and you can easily access RTM from your dock.

Screenlets

Screenlets can convert Remember the Milk Google Gadget to a widget on your desktop. To install RTM as a Screenlets widget, simple click Install on the left pane of the configuration window, select “Convert Web Widget” and insert the following html code to the field:

Deskbar

There is a RTM deskbar module that allows you to access your Remember the Milk account. You’ll have to download the plugins and extract it to the deskbar-applet module folder. Activate it in the Preference and you are ready to go.

Tasque

Tasque is a simple task management app for the Linux Desktop that integrates with Remember the Milk. It is still in the development stage and there is no easy way to install it other than configure from the source code. Nevertheless, this project is the only native app that brings RTM to a Linux desktop.

Twitter

You can update Remember the Milk and receive reminder via Twitter client on your desktop. Simply add RTM as your twitter friend. Send a direct message to RTM to get your tasks updated. Some of the twitter clients available for Linux include Pwytter, Twitux or Twhirl (via Adobe AIR).
